Brooks A. Richardson, Shareholder/Director

Mr. Richardson concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, including insurance bad faith, oil and gas, class actions and large public contract protests. He has significant experience managing discovery, factual analysis and trial preparation in complex, document intensive cases involving large amounts of electronically stored information. Mr. Richardson works extensively with document retention, management, and retrieval systems and databases. He regularly advises clients on implementation of electronic records management policies before and during litigation.

Mr. Richardson frequently defends insurers against allegations of insurance bad faith, most often when the allegations involve more complex issues regarding institutional processes and the use of technology in claims evaluation. In this capacity, he has represented United Services Automobile Association, Farmers Insurance, Republic Group of Insurance Companies, United American, Globe Life, The Hartford, Liberty Life Assurance, and Government Personnel Mutual Life Insurance Company. Mr. Richardson has class action experience in both federal and state court involving insurance bad faith, securities fraud, and violation of employment anti-discrimination statutes. He also has represented land developers in surface disputes with oil and gas operators, oil and gas operators in drilling, royalty and working interest disputes, and transportation companies in public procurement disputes.
